Assiniboia Farmland LP Fundamental Research Corp Report - Investment Analysis pdf_button

In 2005, Assiniboia Capital Corp. launched the first in a series of four farmland limited partnerships. The partnerships were designed to provide an opportunity for Canadian investors to easily participate in farmland ownership in Saskatchewan.

By 2008, there were four Assiniboia Farmland limited partnerships, and in early 2009, they were merged into one entity, now known as Assiniboia Farmland Limited Partnership.

Today, Assiniboia Farmland Limited Partnership owns a diversified portfolio of approximately 115,000 acres of farmland across Saskatchewan, and it continues to acquire more land.

Strong rates of return are generated through a combination of:

  • income generated by the rental of the land;
  • long term capital appreciation.

Investors in Assiniboia Farmland receive semi-annual cash distributions every June and December, and the value of their units will rise as the value of the farmland portfolio increases.

By investing in different regions with varying soil, weather, and cropping patterns, by varying management style (cash rent vs. crop share vs. operate), and by purchasing properties of different sizes, our portfolios are constructed to meet specific risk and return objectives.
